How can I stop a relationship status change beeing broadcasted to all my friends on Facebook?

I’ve just changed my relationship status on facebook (from being “Single” i switched to “no answer”). And I saw all my friends are notified with a feed that says “JS is no longer listed as single”.

I just wanted to remove the relationship status from my profile, but now all friends are being broadcasted with this message!!

Is there any way to hide the change, so noone gets notified ?
