   Anybody interested on this go to yahoo answers about the question, Do Italian and Sicilians have African blood in them? Read the best answer chosen by asker, It explains it very well. Oh, and yes Sicilians atleast, most definitely do, but it happened a long time ago, so depending on whom, I doubt it would show a high percentage in them anymore, very small in the least. Its a stubborn gene though, so after hundreds of years later, you can still see it in the Sicilians, its obvious.

   True, most people don’t realize that North Africans are not black like their Sub-Saharan neighbors. Even Egyptians, contrary to popular Black American opinion, were not black at all but a Mediterranean people. However, given the Sicilian attitude towards blacks it makes for a fantastic scene doesnt it?

   The term moors is a bit broad because they used to call all the people from N-Africa Moors without ditingtion!!! SO I think that the “black” contribution to the sicilian Gene-Pool is neglectable!!!

   True…don’t forget many migrated out of poverty and NOT religeous percecution like from other parts of Europe e.g France Netherlands and Germany. From Italy only the poorest and badly educated migrants came to the new world. The Italian MIddle Class and Aristocracy NEVER left Italy in masses!!! Sane thing happened to Northern Europe… only poor or working class Italians migrated to Northern Europe!!!

    This scene is a brilliant piece of psychology. It isn’t just that Hopper knows he’s dead so he decides to gratuitously insult Walken. It’s that Hopper knows he’s going to be tortured until he gives up his son, so instead he makes Walken mad enough to kill him outright before he spills the beans. So even though he is dead either way, this way Hopper protects his son. Walken lost. He let his emotions cloud his judgment and killed Hopper before he got the info. It’s a brilliant reversal!
