I can’t find any good romance stories and am now looking for books with this theme.

1.This theme occurs often in Angela Thirkells’ Barsetshire novels.
She wrote several all with characters appearing in various social networks throughout the series.
The two titles: ‘Love at All Ages’ and ‘Never too Late’ look particularly interesting.
Shes till has a huge following.
Her novels are listed in the website below
2. Two of Jane Austen’s novels:
‘Sense and Sensibility’ and ‘Emma’ have older men as the romantic interest.
3. A review of George Eliots Middlemarch
“Middlemarch is a small town, whose inhabitants’ lives cross and cross again in an intricate and cleverly woven tale. Central to the plot is the beautiful gentlewoman Dorothea, who marries an older man, Casuabon and finds he is not all that she had imagined, worse yet, her affections are drawn towards Will Ladislaw - a young man of obscure origins and few prospects. Contrasted with this is the tale of Doctor Lydgate and his marriage to a bright young socialite who ruins him. Threaded through are many other lives, loves and intrigues. It is a superb and fascinating book with many plots and some strong romantic elements.”

4 If you want a break from reading: George Bernard Shaw’s play ‘Pygmalion’ was made into the musical ‘My Fair Lady’ Or, if you can get the 1930’s film of the play, its a delightful romantic comedy
5. Daphne du Maurier’s novel ‘Rebecca’ , and the Bronte novel ‘Jane Eyre’ have also been made into films -but the novels I think are better.
It is not clear, in either, novel just how much older the men are than the heroines, but they have clear seniority in age, wealth and status and experience.
6 Finally I’m not familiar with the harlequin novels but this third web site might be useful too-as it leads you to a list of recent May-December novels in their publications
